Sharing their experiences

Some of our volunteers share their own particular experience with individuals and groups.  This video show one of our volunteers, Glynn, telling a group about his experience of downsizing.

This short film features our Silverlinks Judy Mead, talking about the project.

Why volunteer for WE Care & Repair ?

WE Care & Repair offer Award Winning voluntary roles that help us to achieve our aim of improving the quality, safety and suitability of more of the homes of older people, people on low incomes and disabled people.  To the right is a picture of two of our Silverlinks volunteers receiving an award for 'best group' at the Celebrating Age festival in 2015.

"WE Care & Repair recognise how essential volunteers are to our organisation.

Their time and dedication is fundamental in supporting us to deliver our mission of helping more people with housing related issues across the West of England.

As Chief Executive I am passionate about ensuring your volunteer experience is rewarding and fulfilling”

Kevin Snowball

Meet our volunteers

"I enjoy volunteering with WE Care & Repair, love meeting different people, helping them with their queries, pointing them in the right direction and love knowing that the clients are satisfied.

I decided to become a volunteer after the prompt response I got from Care & Repair when my patio door lock got broken.

The work men were spot on, cheerful and hardworking.  Within 2 days my new patio door was in, I was very impressed!  When I was asked if I would like to become a volunteer I could not say no, although I was not sure how i would manage, but I have been volunteering with Care & Repair since"

"Working as a volunteer with WE Care & Repair since early 2015 has ticked all the boxes for me.  It was at that time that I knew I would shortly be retiring, having worked for 40 plus years.  I was looking for something that would enable me to use some of the experience I had gained during my working life, and, if I am honest, also help with this period of transition.

It has been really great working closely with the other volunteers and the staff of WE Care & Repair.  Everyone is really open to new ideas - we all listen to one another.  And knowing that we will have helped to improve someone's life makes it all worthwhile"
